Gear Leg Cables

Hi All,
I'm on the final stages of putting Extended Landing Gear Legs on and I came up with a curious question.

My A1-C 180 has the shock absorbers with bungees; wouldn't the shocks limit travel in the case of bungee failure? In other words, are the safety cables necessary? or even desirable?

If there is any doubt or if the cables supply any amount of safety I'd gladly put them on. But if there's no gain I may just leave them off.

When this is all done I'll post pics etc on the install. Thomas sent me leading edges for Gear Leg Fairings and I built truly airfoil shape composite Fairings from these and welded mounting tabs on the Gear Legs. Also went with SGS Bump Stops.

THe only thing these cables will do in case the bungees get stretched, is damaging the fuselage and the gear before they brake. Leave them off.
