Sad to hear Jim passed the other night. According to his son John, Jim was active right up to the end and passed peacefully of natural causes. Jim contributed so much to so many. His books are treasures.

Very sad indeed. He was a fine man. He touched the Wrangell Mountains with his beautiful photography and I will sincerely miss his insights. What a good man -- RIP.
