The season of fly-ins, cookouts and stories shared around a campfire is just around the corner.
Those of you close enough to the Northwest are fortunate to be so close to so many fantastic place to fly.
Some of my fondest flying memories are based upon those times tooling around in the Frank Church Wilderness, buzzing into and out of strips only seen by the fortunate few.
The photos are of a fire getting underway 2 years ago, which cut our flying season short. The second is crossing the Rockies, just south and east of Butte, Montana....beautiful. The third was taken at Memaloose, Oregon. This strip sits atop the Snake River Canyon and after departing to the south, you can literally decend for nearly 4,000 feet and cruise the Snake River below.
