Year three of the Challenge is coming up September 28th - October 2nd! Same spot…Byrd’s Adventure Center (51AR) in northwest Arkansas. We’ll be opening up registration in a couple of months for pilots and spectators. However, all of the cabins and the 100 powered RV spots are already reserved…plenty of room for primitive camping, airplane camping and self-sufficient RVs.
We’re switching things up this year with a new runway and backcountry flying specific challenges to the course. This is becoming a popular backcountry fly-in/drive-in camping experience...lots of Huskys too! We’ll be rolling out details on the ArkanSTOL website and our ArkanSTOL Instagram and Facebook pages.
Aviat is the Premiere sponsor again this year but there are plenty of other manufacturers sponsoring the Challenge! It’s a great place to see most of the different backcountry birds fly against each other in a true backcountry setting.
