I d like to start a page here on the forumwhere all Mods and STC are listed, so it must be editible by the members.

It should be a list with all Mods , a description could follow here by the Mod Name

Same with STC

The STC holder then may describe his STC by creating a post with the STC name as shown on the list.

This way the Huskyowber has all mods & STCs on one page and if he is interested hecan look for details here.

So far I got on the Husky list lots of very good inputs.

Is someone here , good enough with software that could create a page on this forum which can be edited by everyone, but not deleted.
know this is demanding but I am not a conmpter softeware guy at all. Sorry.

I Prefer flying maintenance wine & girls.

Leave lower 2 Cowl screws off on each side
Enlarge top lower cowl holes to 1/2 inch and use Timmerman washers
Insert bushings in the elevator mounting tubes when play shows up
Seal Engine baffling
Secure Engine baffling a la Bumper
Install Vernier Mixture Control
Replace black prop control knob with standard blue
Cover all camlocks and receptables with a thin teflon spray coat
Seal doorframe with Velcro ( Not the Hook Type )
Install SGS bumpers on the landing gear
Install NMP Valve on one wing-fuelvent
Trim gear fairing if it touches the brake calipers
Install heated seats
Increase Elevator & rudder travel
install rear baggage compartment
Install Bosch Master relay
Install Alaska Bushwheels Tailspring
Install tension springs to the tailwheel
Install Oilfilter
Install silicone gaskets on all rockercovers
Glider Tow Hook w Tost E 75
Remove extra rudder springs at pax pedals
Remove metal from right side C channel to clear oil cooler bracket
Replace fine mesh on lower cowl air inlet with 1/4" mesh
Seal gaps on muffler shroud
Install upgraded carb heatbox shaft/bearings
Add aluminum reflective tape on inside of Plexiglas above taxi lights
Install thin weatherstrip under landing/taxi light Plexiglas cover
Install deflector on right side fresh air inlet
Add hard (insulation) foam wedge under pilot seat (thick end aft) for more leg clearance for taller pilots
Add protective tape to leading edge of struts and elevator
Install Tom's spades
Install Tom's gas cap covers
Remove rudder return springs
Install HID & LED lamps
Pulsing unit for HID/LED lights
Install 6 ply t/w tire
Reinforce door latch receiver (lip on upper door half)
Plug Heater muffler gaps.
Install late model heater air inlet (A-1s)
Install fuel type filter in MP gauge line
Add VGs
Change to MT prop
Alaskan Bushwheels
Index prop to 10/4
Paint top of cowl a dull black (regular "flat" black won't do it)
Install "Wal-Mart" sun shades (overhead and windshield - 2 shades
Odyssey Hawker SBS J16 battery (10-lb. weight savings but appears to have somewhat less cranking power than Concorde)
Cooling lip for lower cowl
Install 2” aluminum baffles in front of #1 and #2 cylinders
Replace foam gasket around air cleaner grate in cowling with Gate 9 leather gasket
AOSS gear mod
Cigarette Lighter Receptacle (that way you can connect cels charger, GPS, etc. under the front panel)
The Donaldson Air Filter (paper filter instead of the foam filter, for less restriction) part number is P107150.
Rear seat mod A1-A and older: weld two pcs of steel (1/4x1/2) to the back seat where you introduce ( in the front of the upper one) the Quick Release Pins, to avoid the back of the seat move all the way to the back. Kris and TomD maybe you can explain this better, it happen to Kris once with me.
Quick Release Pin for the back Stick ( to remove it, when you need space at the rear seat without interference)

The best and easiest way to accomplish this is to begin a new thread under the Husky Mods and Improvements section with the official title of the mod or STC being the thread title. Then create a detailed explanation of the mod/stc including photos if possible. Others can chime in with additional info and or questions regarding that mod or stc. I'll keep each thread clean and protect from thread creep.

In the end, this should create a great repository of data regarding the Husky mods and STC's.

Good suggestion. Actually "Aviat Husky" is already a Wiki topic and relatively informative. It seems that this existing Wiki site could actually be the best repository of mods and STCs for the Husky. I think either Bumper or TomD would be the best persons to start such a sub-chapter on Wiki and then others could add on as appropriate.

Not sure if Wiki is a good idea.

TomD enjoys a measure of insulation and seems to have a good working relationship for Mods with the authorities who regulate such things in Germany.

Unfortunately, such a spirit of cooperation and accomodation is not always universal.

Actually I agree with you. The Wiki site is out there for all to see and yet many of the mods may imply a level of liability that would not be desirable on such a public site. Certainly STCs could be included in the Wiki site, but I kind of like the idea of having STCs and mods all in one location. Maybe these could be included under the Husky site but under a protected "members only" section. Tom has expressed a desire to have the mods and STCs on the Husky site, so maybe this or some other FlyHusky web master technique would suffice.

The whole Husky site is now password protected. You must be a member to view posts.

I've purchased V4 of the vBulletin software and when I get time will get FlyHusky moved over to the new version. It's much more robust and allows us to do many things that we cannot currently do.

I think there will be a good fit for this in the new version.

A recent Wall Street Journal Special Report cited Wikipedia as the worst website for containing user tracking software! According to the WSJ, this site contains hundreds of "cookies" that attach themselves to your browser and track your moves on the web. I only use Explorer "InPrivate" now after reading that article and try to never visit Wikipedia.

The "InPrivate" option is located under "Safety" on the right side of the toolbar.

Just an FYI and no, I'm not a computer expert.
